Electric firing in oxidation atmosphere is the most economical and ecological firing method and there is no smoke and pollution such as in reduction firing. Colors are brighter, It is faster, and more predictable but I think it is more difficult to apply glaze evenly without drips and it requires a high glazing skills and concentration. 
My pots are fired to a temperature of C6 or 2200°F with proper clay bodies and food safe glazes.
